Dr. James Bvirakare is the director of Traralgon Polyclinic.
He was born in Zimbabwe and graduated from University of Zimbabwe in 1993. He spent a few years in general practice and community health before emigrated to Australia to study at Melbourne University specializing in Epidemiology. He was briefly attached at the Victorian Infectious Reference Laboratory where he got introduced to viral respiratory infections. He took a position in Queensland Health where he worked in different roles including in emergency medicine and gained lifechanging experience on venomous creepy crawlies that inhabit this beautiful land.
In 2004, Dr. James moved to Gippsland, a place he now calls home. He has spearheaded growth of general practice in Community Health service. He is passionate about rural health and General practice.
